How to Make Pizza Professionally

Making pizza at home can be a delightful and rewarding experience, especially when you aim to achieve professional quality. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you create a perfect pizza that rivals your favorite pizzeria.

Ingredients:

  • Dough:
    • 500g bread flour
    • 325ml water
    • 10g salt
    • 7g instant yeast
    • 20ml olive oil
  • Sauce:
    • 400g canned tomatoes
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • Fresh basil leaves
  • Toppings:
    • 250g mozzarella cheese
    • Fresh basil leaves
    • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in water and let it sit for a few minutes.
    • Combine the yeast mixture with the flour and knead until a smooth dough forms. Add olive oil and continue kneading for about 10 minutes.
    • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
  2. Make the Sauce:

    • In a saucepan, heat olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
    • Add the canned tomatoes, salt, and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
    • Blend the sauce until smooth and add fresh basil leaves.
  3. Assemble the Pizza:

    • Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually around 250°C or 482°F) and place a pizza stone inside.
    • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
    • Spread a thin layer of sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Add mozzarella cheese and any additional toppings you prefer.
    • Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  4. Serve:

    • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.
